A 35-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly threatening a woman in her 60s with two knives at a South Tamworth home.
Officers from Oxley Police District were called to a home on Robert Street about 12pm on Sunday, 23 August, following reports of a concern for welfare.
Police were told the woman, who is known to the man, had been threatened while he was armed with two knives. Officers, assisted by the Dog Unit, located and arrested the man inside the home after he allegedly refused to come out.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with five offences: armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm (domestic violence), contravening a prohibition or restriction in an apprehended violence order, and destroying or damaging property (domestic violence).
He was refused bail to reappear before Tamworth Local Court on Tuesday, 1 September.
