New England aged care workers and volunteers have been recognised for their dedication and service as part of Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution’s (RFBI) annual Showcase Awards.
The awards, announced as part of Aged Care Employee Day celebrations, recognise staff, volunteers and teams who have demonstrated excellence in delivering aged care services.
This year, RFBI has recognised 60 nominees and finalists across its services, including eight individuals and teams from RFBI villages in the New England region.
Three local representatives have been named as finalists.
Anita Johnson, from RFBI Armidale Masonic Village, is a finalist for Employee of the Year, recognising her outstanding commitment to residents and service excellence.
Kevin Jones, from RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village, is a finalist for the Ray Vickers Volunteer of the Year award, recognising the contribution he makes to village life through his time, companionship and support for residents.
Paul Taggart, from RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village, is a finalist for Cook/Chef of the Year, recognising his contribution to providing high-quality dining experiences for residents.
Five other local individuals and teams have received nominations:
- Jane Cullen, RFBI Armidale Masonic Village — Employee of the Year;
- Anu Antony, RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village — Employee of the Year;
- Binod Karki, RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village — Employee of the Year;
- Jenny Vidler, RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village — Employee of the Year; and
- RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village Maintenance Team — Team of the Year.
RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village general manager Christine Kneipp said it was wonderful to see so many local staff and volunteers recognised.

These nominations and finalist achievements reflect the compassion, dedication and professionalism our people demonstrate every day and the positive difference they make in the lives of residents and their families.”
Finalists and nominees will be honoured at the RFBI Showcase Awards later this year, when the winners will be announced and celebrated alongside colleagues from across the organisation.
