Even fast food is getting in to the action, with country music spilling out of Hungry Jack’s in Peel Street as part of this year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival.

As festival crowds descend on the Boulevard of Dreams, the local Hungry Jack’s restaurant has become an unofficial side stage, offering live country music alongside burgers, chips and a reliable place to find a clean ladies room.

“We’d like to invite you to experience Hungry Jack’s Tamworth very own country music festival in-store! Until Saturday, January 24th, customers can visit the Peel St store to catch up to five performers per day,” said a spokesperson for the restaurant.

Performances are staged inside the restaurant from midday through to early evening, turning a routine fast food stop into an unexpected live music venue.

“With the Australia Country Music Hall of Fame just across the road, Hungry Jack’s Peel St restaurant is a perfect pit-stop to keep the music pumping,” the spokesperson said.

From today onwards, the program features a rotating line-up of artists, with Thursday bringing sets from Sandy Louise, Christina Joy and Pleasynt Worry, followed by Karen Thomsen in the evening.

Friday continues the in-store festival feel with performances by Angus Kitt and the Concrete Cowboys, Molly Harrison, Kiera Humphries, Violet Claire and Pleasynt Worry.

The final day of performances sees Leah Brohan, Sandy Louise, Karen Thomsen and Orlando Caston take their turn on the small stage before the festival wraps up.
