The festive spirit will shine brightly in Quirindi this November, as the community gathers for an evening of music, joy, and candlelit magic at Sounds of the Season – a special Christmas concert presented by Quirindi Rotary and Pursehouse Rural.
Set for Saturday, 29 November 2025, at 7.30pm in the Quirindi Uniting Church, this enchanting event invites audiences to celebrate the beauty of the season through the timeless power of classical music.
Organiser Robert Lewis said the inspiration for the event came from a recent trip back to England to visit family.
“We went to visit some relatives, and they took us to a Christmas concert in this beautiful old church, and I was just so taken with the evening that I came home and suggested it to Rotary and now here we are with our first event organised!” said Mr Lewis.
Bringing together some of the region’s most talented performers, the concert will feature the Tamworth Conservatorium Chamber Singers and Chamber Ensemble, joined by Cara Bastian from the Tamworth Dramatic Society and Molly Owen, a young performer known for her appearances at the NSW Schools Spectacular.
The evening’s program will blend beloved Christmas carols with classical masterpieces and contemporary works, highlighted by a performance of Sally DeFord’s exquisite Silent Night Cantata. The result promises to be a musical journey that captures both the peace and the wonder of Christmas.
The Quirindi Uniting Church will provide an intimate and atmospheric setting, its candlelit glow perfectly complementing the spirit of the season. With limited seating for just 150 guests, Sounds of the Season is expected to sell out quickly, making it one of the most anticipated events on the local festive calendar.
“The Church has such fantastic acoustics and only takes a relatively small number of people, so it will be a charming, intimate event,” said Mr Lewis.
Event organisers say the concert aims not only to entertain but to bring the community together in celebration.
“It’s not at all a religious event, I just wanted to create something new and wonderful to kick off the Christmas season for the community,” said Mr Lewis.
Sponsored by Pursehouse Rural, this event marks the very first Sounds of the Season concert in Quirindi, with hopes it will become an annual tradition for years to come.
Tickets are $25 per person, available at Unique Rustique Quirindi, or by contacting Robert Lewis on 0447 627 695. The small entry fee covers the event’s costs as well as a donation to the church.
Don’t miss this heart-warming celebration of music, community, and Christmas magic — an unforgettable evening sure to start the festive season on the perfect note.
