SBM25: Higher and Higher

October is Small Business Month! And to celebrate, we’re highlighting some of the great small businesses we have throughout the region.

Today we are lifting you up with beautiful flowers to lift the spirits, a mobile art space to elevate the community, and a tutoring service that will lift the marks and confidence.

Rosemerin Florist

Flowers for life’s most beautiful moments.

119 Butler Street, Armidale, NSW 2350

For nearly 25 years, Rosemerin Florist has been brightening the New England with stunning floral designs, hampers and gifts. Based in Armidale, just beside the hospital, Rosemerin offers same-day delivery and a wide selection for every occasion – from love and sympathy to new babies, celebrations and thank yous.

Owned by the Baivucago family and supported by a passionate team with over 50 years of combined experience, Rosemerin has become the florist of choice for weddings and events across the region. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, they bring creativity, care and precision to every detail.

Sourcing from local growers and farms across Australia – and internationally when something truly unique is needed – Rosemerin ensures every arrangement is fresh, beautiful and meaningful. They also offer indoor plant hire, giving businesses and events a touch of natural elegance.

Whether it’s a heartfelt gift, a corporate arrangement, or the most important day of your life, Rosemerin Florist delivers beauty, reliability, and the personal touch only a family business can provide.

Elevating Art Studio

Building community through creativity.

2/154 Bridge Street, Tamworth, NSW 2340

Launched on Leap Year Day in 2024, Elevating Art Studio began as a mobile studio hosting paint-and-sip events and hat-burning workshops. In June 2025, the dream grew into a permanent space on Bridge Street, Tamworth – a place where creativity and community come together.

The studio now offers a wide range of art classes and workshops for both kids and adults, designed to nurture self-expression, healing, and wellbeing. As a registered NDIS provider, Elevating Art Studio creates safe and supportive spaces where every individual can feel seen, heard, and inspired.

Founder Sherry Smith, an experienced art educator and proud Tamworth local since 2009, brings 18 years of teaching experience and a deep passion for making art accessible to all. With small class sizes, tailored programs, and a welcoming environment, the studio is as much about connection as it is about creativity.

Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to grow as an artist, Elevating Art Studio offers the inspiration, support, and community to help you flourish.

Your Tutor in Armidale

Supporting students, strengthening futures.

209–213 Beardy Street, Level 1, Armidale, NSW 2350

At Your Tutor in Armidale, every student is supported to reach their full potential. Offering tailored, in-person tutoring for K–12, the team provides a welcoming space at 209–213 Beardy Street where learning feels focused, comfortable and engaging.

With over 30 years of teaching experience in Armidale, founder Florence understands that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work for every child. Reluctance to ask questions, disruptive classrooms or simply feeling left behind can all prevent students from thriving. That’s where Your Tutor in Armidale makes a difference – creating a safe, encouraging environment where students build both skills and confidence.

Backed by a team of 25 qualified tutors and teachers – all carefully vetted and holding current Working With Children Checks – the focus is on personalised support that meets each student’s needs.

As a proudly independent local business, Your Tutor in Armidale is committed to helping young people succeed academically while re-engaging them with the joy of learning. Because while online tutoring has its place, nothing replaces the impact of face-to-face connection, care, and guidance.

Throughout October, we’ll run stories highlighting the great local businesses we have right here in our communities. This is a free service – the businesses highlighted have not paid for this story.
