Irene Gallagher, RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village’s Hotel Services Manager, has been recognised for her achievements, being announced as the 2025 Cook/Chef of the Year.
The Village said this accolade is a testament to her unwavering commitment to resident well-being and high standards in meal preparation.
Irene is renowned for preparing meals with care, pride, and a country cook’s touch.
Each dish is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every meal is not only delicious but also nourishing.
Irene leads by example – her influence is evident not only in the dining experience for residents, but also in the broader services provided by the kitchen, such as the Coffee Shop and the Meals on Wheels program.
Her passion, reliability, and attention to detail make her a standout chef – and her profiteroles are legendary.
“We are incredibly proud of Irene for receiving this well-deserved award,” said Christine Kneipp, General Manager of RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village.
“Her commitment to excellence in meal preparation and legendary profiteroles has made a profound difference in our village. We are honoured to have such a dedicated and inspiring chef as part of our team.”
“This achievement not only highlights the exceptional qualities of our chef but also underscores RFBI’s commitment to excellence in meals and food services.”
Irene was announced as the winner at RFBI’s Showcase Awards night held at the Sydney Masonic Centre on Tuesday, 23 September.
Over 150 guests attended the evening, celebrating RFBI’s staff and volunteers’ dedication and commitment to caring for older Australians.
