The much-loved Quirindi Spring Show is set to return to the Quirindi Showgrounds on Saturday, 13 September, and Sunday, 14 September, bringing with it two days of colour, competition, and community celebration.
This year’s theme, “Around the World,” promises to take visitors on a global journey without ever leaving the Liverpool Plains, with vibrant displays, entertainment, food, and activities inspired by cultures from across the globe.
The Quirindi Show has long been a highlight of the district calendar, bringing together families, competitors, and spectators for a showcase that blends tradition with fresh new experiences. This year’s program will feature all the favourites that locals and visitors have come to love. From wood chopping and dog shows to yard dog trials, equestrian events, cattle displays, and the Young Woman Competition, there will be plenty to watch and cheer for across the two days.
For children, the colouring-in contests, junior cookery categories, and school exhibits ensure there are opportunities to take part, while amusement rides and food stalls will keep the whole family entertained.

“Major Ken Cudmore will be doing our official opening this year,” said Senior Vice-President of the Quirindi Show Society, Kim Lawlor.
“The pavilion will be full of wonderful arts and crafts and the theme for 2025 is “Around the World”, this theme is to try to encourage a range of different entries to showcase many different areas of the world. We are now such a multicultural country why not include this into the show.”
The Pavilion will indeed again be a hive of creativity, opening its doors to entries in a wide variety of categories. From farm and garden produce to cookery, jams and preserves, arts and crafts, sewing, knitting, and photography, the exhibits demonstrate the extraordinary talent and ingenuity found throughout the community. Indigenous art and model building will be featured alongside traditional favourites, while home-baked treats and preserves will tempt both the eyes and tastebuds of judges and onlookers alike.
“Young Woman of the Year will also be announced during the official opening and we’re very proud to have last year’s winner, Paige Sevil, coordinate the competition this year,” said Ms Lawlor.
Equestrian fans will be well catered for, with showjumping competitions running across both days. Events will range from junior classes through to open levels and the thrilling six-bar challenge, giving riders of all skill levels the chance to shine.
On the livestock front, cattle enthusiasts will be treated to impressive displays that highlight the strength of the region’s beef industry and the importance of agriculture to the Liverpool Plains.
There is one very special new attraction added to the mix this year too.
“One of the main attractions this year will be the Camel Racing. This will definitely be a highlight for the day,” said Ms Lawlor.
Of course, no country show is complete without great food, music, and atmosphere. Visitors can wander through market stalls, enjoy live entertainment, and sample a wide variety of local produce and classic show treats. The “Around the World” theme will add an extra layer of excitement, with opportunities to celebrate different cultures while enjoying the rural charm that makes the Quirindi Show so special.
Behind the scenes, the Quirindi Show Society has been working hard to bring the event to life, supported by countless volunteers and community members. Their efforts ensure that the Show remains not just an annual highlight, but also a showcase of local pride, resilience, and creativity. For anyone wishing to get more involved, the Society holds regular meetings and welcomes new faces who want to contribute.
“There is so much to see and do in the Liverpool Plains that we hope the show bring not only locals to the event but brings new faces to the area,” said Ms Lawlor.
The gates will open from 7 am on both days, with the program running through until 4 pm.
Whether you are entering a competition, supporting friends and family, or simply looking for a weekend of fun and festivity, the Quirindi Spring Show offers something for everyone.
This year’s global theme is set to add a unique flavour to an already cherished tradition, making 2025 the perfect year to experience all that the Show has to offer.
