Moree Plains Shire residents are encouraged to register now for Moree Plains Shire Council’s free, bulky waste collection drive, scheduled for collection this September.
The bulk collection service will operate across parts of the Moree Plains, allowing households up to three cubic metres of permitted waste to dispose of bulky items for free.
“In particular, mattresses, sofas, white goods and green waste – under 1.8m in length and under 250mm in diameter, that would otherwise incur a disposal fee at the Moree Waste Management Facility, due to the new waste disposal fees which came into effect from July 1, 2025, can be picked for no additional charge if booked in”. said Interim Director of Infrastructure, Michael Malone said.
Bulky waste should be clearly grouped on residential kerbsides: general household waste, green waste, metals & whitegoods and e-waste.
On the weekend before collection starts, residents with a booking are encouraged to separate and stack items into four piles on the kerb for easy pickup.
