The Clique Curation has taken out a well-deserved win in the Craft Store category in our Best in the New England (BITNE) awards, and it’s easy to see why.
Based in Armidale, this stylish little shopfront is so much more than just a store — it’s a community of creators, makers, growers and producers working together to bring something special to town.
The Clique Curation is built around a clever idea: give local micro-businesses a shared space to sell their work, and support them with both in-store and online sales.
From handmade gifts and artisan wares to home décor and locally grown goodies, every item on the shelf is handpicked and has its own story. Shoppers know that when they buy something at The Clique, they’re directly supporting someone in the region — and that connection really matters.

Winning the BITNE award is a real feather in the cap for the collective. It recognises the creativity behind their business model and their commitment to making local enterprise shine. By bringing small producers together under one roof, The Clique not only offers customers more variety, but also helps local businesses thrive in a tough retail climate.
In a post on Facebook responding to their win, The Clique Curation said, “How fantastic! Blown away by the support for our little shop. We take pride in what we do and the products (handcrafted with so much care) that we provide – it’s just wonderful to be recognised by our community. Thank you everyone and to New England Times for the opportunity. A big congratulations to all the other shops also recognised for their contribution to the crafting industry.”
The majority of the comments from those who voted for The Clique Curation focused on the uniqueness and quality of the products they sell, as well as praising their focus on locally made goods.
“When you walk into the shop, you are welcomed by the friendly and helpful volunteers, who are also the amazing and talented Makers of the diverse, hand-crafted products.” said Robyn Anderson.
“The window display as well as the in-store displays are so beautifully arranged it entices you to buy the varied items for gifts or for personal use. It is very hard to walk out of the shop without buying something! The Clique Curation is located in a very handy part of the town – in the Mall, just down from the Post Office.”
While Cheryl Andrews echoed sentiments.
“They’re UNIQUE in Armidale because they’re a group of handcrafters (also local producers and growers) who share the shopfront. It gives local makers a place to showcase and sell their wares, where the sales go direct to them – how great is that?!” said Andrews.
Located on Beardy Street in Armidale, The Clique Curation has become a go-to spot for unique gifts and beautiful, locally made pieces. The vibe in-store is warm, welcoming and full of personality — just like the people behind the products. And with the option to shop online too, more people from across the region (and beyond) are discovering what the collective has to offer.
This BITNE win is a great reminder of the power of collaboration and creativity in business. The Clique Curation is leading the way when it comes to doing things differently — and doing them with heart.
