Men’s night out returns: A warm winter’s gathering with a powerful message

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s Men’s Night Out, Glen Innes is once again coming together to support, uplift, and connect around the important topic of men’s health.

This year’s event on Friday 13 June 2025 at the Glen Innes Services Club, promises another powerful and entertaining evening—offering warmth, great food, moving stories, and live music under one roof.

With the support of the Kayne Wells Memorial Fund, the Glen Innes Men’s Shed, White Rock Wind Farm, and the Glen Innes Services Club, the event continues to build momentum as a must-attend winter gathering in our community calendar.

“While the focus is on men’s health, we know that behind every man is often a partner, daughter, sister or mate encouraging them to show up,” says Kylie Falconer, CEO of GLENRAC.

“This is a night for everyone—women included—because mental health touches us all.”

Guests are encouraged to “Bring your mates, wear your favourite fishing shirt or footy jersey, and join us for a night that’ll leave you uplifted.”

The $20 ticket includes a hearty two-course meal and a chance to win a TradeMutt Lucky Door prize. Tickets are available now at the Glen Innes Services Club but must be purchased by Friday 6 June.

Sam Bailey headlines the night with a story that will stay with you long after the event. After a car accident left him a quadriplegic, Sam defied all odds to return to life on the land—farming, riding quad bikes, even flying a plane. His bestselling memoir Head Over Heels, co-written with his wife Jenny, is a testament to resilience, love and laughter in the face of hardship.

Returning this year is the inspiring Carol Mudford, CEO and Founder of sHedway, who was recently named the 2025 NSW/ACT AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award winner for her work supporting mental health in the shearing industry.

Thanks to community generosity last year, over $6,000 was raised for sHedway, and Carol’s return is one of the most anticipated parts of the evening.

Keeping the energy high and the laughs rolling is MC Murray “Muz” Hartin, fresh from his memorable performance at the GLENRAC 35th Anniversary dinner in 2024. With his iconic yarns like Rain From Nowhere and Turbulence, Muz brings the heart and humour that reflect the Aussie spirit and our tight-knit country communities.

The night rounds off with live music from Sam Handford, a rising star from the Northern Rivers. With original hits like Cowboy in Love and a talent for turning any evening into a foot-tapping singalong, Sam’s performance promises to be the perfect end to a heartfelt night.

Don’t miss this chance to gather in warmth, friendship and purpose this winter. Whether you’re coming for the stories, the music, the laughs—or simply to support a mate—you’ll leave feeling part of something bigger.

Tickets include dinner and must be purchased by Friday 6 June from the Glen Innes Services Club.
