Anticipation is building as the Inverell Aquatic Centre is entering its final stages of construction, with a revised schedule ensuring all service infrastructure is on track for completion.

This state-of-the-art, multi-million-dollar facility is set to become a premier recreational destination for the Inverell community and the wider region.

Key milestones in the construction process are fast approaching.

On 9th December, the moveable Pool Boom will be installed in the 50m pool, followed by the commencement of play equipment being installed within the splash pad area on 11th December.

Essential Energy is scheduled to connect power to the facility week commencing 13th January, paving the way for the commissioning phase to commence.

Construction will be finalised by the third week of January, with handover to Council in early February.

Mayor of Inverell Shire, Cr. Kate Dight, inspected the new facility and viewed the silver ceremonial jug which was presented to Lieutenant General Henry Gordon Bennett in commemoration of the opening of the Inverell Memorial Pool in 1958. The jug will be a special feature in a display of memorabilia.

The Inverell Aquatic Centre will offer a range of modern facilities, including a World Aquatics (previously FINA) compliant swimming pool, leisure amenities, seminar rooms, café and vibrant play spaces.

The centre is poised to provide exceptional recreational opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages, while promoting health and well-being in the region.
