Tamworth Regional Gallery – Unearthed Exhibition
April 19 @ 10:00 am - May 18 @ 4:00 pm

Across the Tamworth Regional Museums collections, we work to unearth lesser-known histories and to bring to light stories that empower younger generations to be custodians of our regional culture and traditions. These 12 unique stories, brought together from across our collections, offer insights into how the history of our region and events of the past have helped to shape the place we know today.
Join us as we look through 12 collections and see what some of their unearthed objects can tell us about our region’s history.
Journey with us as we explore:
how country music events were promoted in the early days of the industry
the only camera of its kind that is still in operation
the wide impact of minerals
how one book can tell the story of a business empire
what clothing alternatives were the only option for many people during the Great Depression of the 1930s
the pleasures of diving deep into family history
how one implement can have many uses
what a snapshot in time can look like
whether an artwork is really by the artist who is credited with its creation
how the electric power industry supported beauty standards and social expectations
how locating a missing link can make all the difference to a Gallery.
