This November, the Friends of NERAM will host the New England Artisan Trail, a weekend event inviting the public into the studios of six professional artists across the region.
Taking place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November 2025, the trail offers a rare opportunity to see artists at work, explore a diverse range of creative spaces, and connect with the vibrant arts community that thrives in New England.
The participating artists include watercolour painter Julia Hardman, potters Rick and Suzanne Hatch, landscape painters Rowen Matthews and Kerry Gulliver, and reclaimed metal artist Miles Harper. Visitors can choose to visit individual studios or purchase a weekend pass to experience all six.
“This event is all about connection,” said Debra Kelliher, Friends of NERAM Chair.
“It’s a chance for people to meet artists, see their processes up close, and celebrate the creativity that makes our region unique.”
“Plus, every ticket sold supports the Friends’ fundraising for NERAM.”
Local landscape painter Kerry Gulliver said she hopes visitors to her studio will get the chance to be inspired and see how her work is connected to place.
“I live on a beautiful bush block on the outskirts of Armidale and my studio looks out on all sides to the landscape,” she said.
“The Australian bush is so evocative, with its many moods, rhythms and changing light, it’s impossible not to be inspired by it.”
Tickets are $40 for Friends of NERAM members, $45 for non-members, or $12 per individual studio visit.
