Good old-fashioned fun wins big at Green Valley Farm

Green Valley Farm has long been a treasured destination for families across the region, and now it has been recognised as the Best Tourist Attraction in the New England.

Tucked away just 10 kilometres east of Tingha, Green Valley Farm offers a unique blend of nostalgia, adventure, and hands-on fun. It’s more than just a day out — it’s a step back in time, a place where families can disconnect from the hustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature, animals, and one another.

Opened in the 1980s, the property is now known for its old-school amusement park feel, the farm features a variety of activities that keep visitors of all ages entertained, including water slides, play equipment, miniature train rides, and an array of friendly farm animals.

Owner and matriarch of the family, Beryl Stewart, said, “I’m so very flattered by the win, it’s really made our day.”

“It’s always been such a privilege opening our property up to visitors and I thank God every day for the opportunity to be able to do with my beautiful family by my side.”

At the heart of the property is the fascinating Smith’s Museum, which houses an eclectic collection of rare gems, minerals, and antique curios. The museum is a passion project that reflects the personality and history of the family behind Green Valley Farm, adding depth and character to the visitor experience. The combination of quirky collections, wide open spaces, and good old-fashioned fun has made the farm a go-to spot for generations.

Green Valley Farm is proudly family owned and operated, and that personal touch is evident in every corner of the business. From the hand-painted signs to the lovingly maintained grounds, everything about the farm speaks to a deep sense of care and pride. It’s this genuine hospitality and attention to detail that keeps people coming back, year after year.

The majority of the votes received for Green Valley praised the friendly and warm attitude of the Stewart family.

“The best fun for all ages! Beryl and the family are always so friendly and welcoming,” said Jemina.

“Great place for eveyone to go! Great staff and great activities,” said Tamika.

The win in Best in the New England is particularly meaningful given the farm’s resilience in the face of adversity. Over the years, Green Valley has weathered droughts, bushfires, and even a tornado, but the team has always bounced back with determination and heart. Their ability to maintain such a joyful and welcoming environment in the face of these challenges is part of what makes the farm so special.
