Narrabri will light up for the sixth annual NarraBRIGHT on April 10 with the biggest light show it’s hosted yet. The community celebration aims to attract visitors from across the New England North West and beyond.
Event Manager Gillian Goddard said the 2026 event was even bigger and better than previous events, with the theme this year being ‘Fantasy’.
“Fantasy gives everyone permission to dream big,” she said.
“Whether it’s dragons, fairies or futuristic worlds, we can’t wait to see how our community brings their creativity to life under the glow of NarraBRIGHT.”
This means the Narrabri CBD and Creek Pathway will transform into a light experience, mixing projection lighting, installations, entertainment, food vendors and community activities.
Gillian said this year’s event involved more events behind Collins Park, Leitch and Hogan Ovals through a curated 700-metre light trail with the Narrabri Creek Pathway Light Trail, curated by Mandylights.
NarraBRIGHT is all about community involvement and one of the highlights of the event will be more than 130 artworks from schools, pre-schools, aged care residents and local artists featured in a projected community gallery along the pathway, beside art installations and a community mural under the bridge.

Mayor Darrell Tiemens said this year’s theme of ‘Fantasy’ was about getting lost in the magic of NarraBRIGHT.
“It’s about seeing familiar streets transformed into something extraordinary, a place where light bends reality and imagination take over,” he said.
“With a staged expansion over three years, we can deliver a high-quality event that grows sustainably, supports local businesses, and celebrates the creativity and culture of Narrabri.”
Visitors are also well catered for with accommodation deals and visitor experiences in the event’s program including guided tours of Mt Kaputar and fish farm breakfast tours. For local businesses, it is another opportunity to showcase what Narrabri has to offer during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
Gillian said the event was a great one for locals, given the rising cost of fuel and, therefore, travel, as it gave people in the region access to a Vivid-style experience much closer to home.
The event usually attracts about 5000 people, with organisers hoping to expand on that this year.
The event starts in the Narrabri CBD and Narrabri Creek Pathway at 5pm on April 10 with market stalls, live music, children’s activities, roaming entertainment and, of course, the light trail and much more with entertainment free and family-friendly.
