PLC Armidale has named its 2026 Tildesley tennis team, with the squad set to travel to Sydney to compete against leading independent girls’ schools from across New South Wales.

The team will be captained by Trista Dorrian (Armidale, Year 11), the current NSW under-16 girls champion, who will represent the college in the singles competition.

She will be joined in singles by Sophie Bailey (Armidale, Year 12), who won the NSW under-16 championship while in Year 9.

The doubles pairings are Carla Mazzella (Coffs Harbour, Year 10) and Isabelle Scanlon (Year 7), and Katie Rizzi (Walcha, Year 7) with Ariela Brown (Barraba, Year 7).

PLC Armidale principal Nicola Taylor said the team combined experience with emerging talent.

“We are very proud of the girls selected for this year’s team,” Mrs Taylor said.

“With two outstanding singles players leading the squad and our younger players gaining valuable experience, it is a strong and exciting group.”

The Tildesley Tennis Shield competition is Australia’s oldest school tennis tournament and gives students the opportunity to compete at a high level while representing their schools.
