Narrabri Shire Council has unveiled the theme for NarraBRIGHT 2026 – Fantasy – inviting attendees to step into a world of imagination, light and wonder when the much-loved event returns on Friday, 10 April 2026.
This 2026 theme promises to transform the Narrabri CBD into an enchanting realm where reality and fantasy intertwine. From dazzling light projections and interactive art installations to live performances and creative community displays, NarraBRIGHT will transport audiences into a storybook brought to life.
Mayor Darrell Tiemens said the theme captures the spirit of NarraBRIGHT, a celebration of creativity, community and connection.
“Fantasy is about getting lost in the magic of NarraBRIGHT. It’s about seeing familiar streets transformed into something extraordinary, a place where light bends reality and imagination take over,” Mayor Tiemens said.
Council’s Small Business Liaison Officer and NarraBRIGHT Event Manager, Gillian Goddard, said the theme opens endless opportunities for artists, performers and families to get involved.
“Fantasy gives everyone permission to dream big. Whether it’s dragons, fairies or futuristic worlds, we can’t wait to see how our community brings their creativity to life under the glow of NarraBRIGHT,” Ms Goddard said.
Set to return bigger and brighter than ever, NarraBRIGHT 2026 will continue to feature light projections, family-friendly entertainment, local food and dining experiences, live music, and late-night shopping. The expanded event footprint will include Collins Park, connecting all the way to The Crossing Theatre via an illuminated trail along the Narrabri Creek Pathway.
NarraBRIGHT is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s Open Streets Program, led by Transport for NSW, with Council securing $350,000 in funding over three years.
“We’re excited to support NarraBRIGHT in Narrabri Shire,” Minister for the Arts, and Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy, John Graham said.
“Too often our main streets are something we drive through, rather than drive to. Our main streets are a critical part of our social infrastructure, and this program demonstrates how we can use our streets to bring communities together and drive revenue for local businesses.
“The Open Streets program temporarily transforms our main streets into thriving, vibrant public event spaces.
“The colour and diversity of these 240 events across NSW, celebrates the unique personality of each town or suburb. This is what our vibrancy agenda is all about, backing locals to create events and entertainment that works for their local community.”
As one of the region’s most anticipated events, NarraBRIGHT is expected to draw visitors from across New South Wales and beyond, offering an unforgettable night of light, laughter and community spirit.
