6 months of roadworks north of Armidale

Starting tomorrow, delays and slow conditions will affect motorists north of Armidale as the next round of work on the New England Highway north of Sunnyside Road begins.

Changed traffic conditions will be in place from Monday on the New England Highway about 20 kilometres north of Armidale for maintenance work.

Transport for NSW will carry out the work which includes drainage works, road widening, heavy patching and guardrail installation.

Work starting Monday 30 March will be carried out from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Work is expected to be completed by late October 2026, weather permitting.

Lane closures with stop/slow traffic arrangements and a 40km/h speed reduction will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists. Motorists should allow an additional five minutes’ travel time.
