SUMMARY:Stained Glass Window Workshop - Inverell
DESCRIPTION:Learn the timeless craft of stained glass in an immersive two-day workshop with experienced artisan Peter Robertson in Inverell this July.\n\n\nDesigned for beginners and those looking to expand their creative skills\, the hands-on workshop will guide participants through the complete process of designing\, constructing and finishing a stained glass panel. Peter Robertson\, who has more than 40 years of experience creating stained glass works\, will teach traditional techniques used in both modern and heritage stained glass production and restoration.\n\n\nParticipants will create their own stained glass panel from one of Peter’s selected designs while learning a broad range of practical skills including glass cutting\, preparing working drawings\, assembly of panels using lead and glass\, soldering and puttying techniques\, and cleaning and polishing finished work.\n\n \n\n\nThe workshop will also cover restoration and repair methods for damaged stained glass\, how to recreate original designs for restoration projects\, and installation techniques for timber and aluminium frames. Other topics include safety practices\, the use of specialist glass tools and materials\, different glass types and finishes\, strengthening methods using brass or steel\, and jigs and mass production techniques.\n\n\nPeter will also provide instruction on the use of soldering equipment\, including choosing the correct tip and wattage\, cleaning and preparation methods\, suitable solders and fluxes\, and understanding the flow of molten metal.\n\n\nAll materials required to complete the selected project are included in the course fee\, and participants will have access to specialist equipment including a glass grinder\, light box\, assorted chemicals and professional glassworking tools during the workshop. Light lunch is included on both days.\n\n\nThe workshop will be held from 9am to 5pm on Saturday July 11 and Sunday July 12\, 2026\, at 45 Mansfield Street\, Inverell.\n\n \n\n\nPlaces are strictly limited\, with a minimum of two and maximum of four participants accepted to ensure personalised instruction.\n\n\nThe workshop costs $600 per person and participants must be aged 16 years or older.
