SUMMARY:Festival of Small Halls\, Nundle
DESCRIPTION:Woodfordia’s Festival of Small Halls has announced that Canadian folk/blues artist Joe H Henry and Australian guitar slinger Tullara will feature on their next tour in April 2026\, which takes in 13 regional towns. \nAt Nundle Memorial Hall on Sunday 26 April\, Joe H Henry and Tullara will be supported by Nundle singer songwriters Jeff Gibson and John Krsulja. \nNow regarded as the benchmark for rural and regional touring\, and presented by veteran festival producers Woodfordia Inc\, the 49th edition of the not-for-profit music tour is meandering from Bullarto through to Deepwater. Country halls have huge histories and multiple uses in modern life. Once the only spot in town for dances\, balls\, weddings\, funerals\, and sometimes enjoying a second innings after life as a railway station\, Cobb & Co stop or manor house\, these spaces are still central to community life\, hosting meetings\, classes\, workshops and shows. Within the Festival of Small Halls model\, each community invites the tour to stop with them\, often also hosting a community meal\, BBQ\, or cake spread\, and other events alongside the concerts to make the night special.\nFamous for their larger-than-life folk festivals over the last two decades\, Woodfordia presents a more intimate\, but no less exciting lineup with Joe H Henry (who performed at the recent Woodford Folk Festival) and Tullara. Métis singer-songwriter Joe H Henry possesses a voice described as “as powerful as a freight train” – a potent instrument that delivers his blend of early rhythm and blues\, soul\, and alt country\, enriched by folk-inspired lyrical depth. Drawing from a life encompassing experiences from a homeless train-hopping youth to a homesteading father of five\, Henry’s songwriting is thoughtful and his storytelling captivating\, forging a strong connection with diverse audiences. This depth of experience resonates in every line he sings. \nIn 2026\, Tullara is set to turn heads with the release of her highly anticipated debut album Rebound\, recorded and produced in Vancouver\, Canada. Rebound presents a bold\, genre-defying\, thrilling evolution of Tullara’s music and sound – one that embraces the world of modern pop/rock\, blending her introspective lyricism with infectious melodies and cutting-edge\, world class production. The first single I Don’t Believe in Giving Up is a modern take on self-value with a stylish celtic/pop blend delivered on Tullara’s electric banjo.\n“I’m absolutely stoked to be heading out on tour with the Festival of Small Halls!” says Tullara.\n“It is so incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to tour through regional and rural VIC and NSW and to play in these beautiful town halls – which are often the authentic gems\nand community pride of each town. I can’t wait to share my music with new people and communities and to swap stories with all the locals in every town along the way!”\n“It feels like a moment that I have waited my whole life for – while never knowing it was possible – is about to take place.” says Joe H Henry.
